PARAPROFESSIONAL POSITION  

 

The Wright Technical Center – ISD #966 in Buffalo, MN is seeking a qualified applicant for a student resource paraprofessional position. WTC is a 9-12 school focusing on CTE and alternative education.

 

Position Description:

To assist in the implementation of all aspects of the building’s student resource room, behavior intervention support program, including reinforcement of student intervention strategies and progress monitoring of students. 

 

Position Qualifications: 

  1. Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. 
  2. Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills. 
  3. Previous experience in secondary alternative education preferred.
  4. An understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how they impact student behavior.
  5. Enter and analyze trends of student behavior data.  
  6. Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Apps 

 

Position Responsibilities:  

  1. Supports Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) initiatives. 
  2. Provides assistance de-escalating student behaviors and reintegration back into the classroom using restorative justice practices. 
  3. Read, follow, and implement some components of an Individualized Education Program (IEP), 504 plans or Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP).
  4. Collaborate with building administration, licensed teachers, families, students, and others as needed for the purpose of implementing the behavior intervention plans as a team. 
  5. Assists students in developing plans to repair situations (or provide restitution when needed) for being successful in the classroom. 
  6. Collects and documents data, related reports, and child records for the purpose of ongoing behavior intervention service planning and review. 
  7. Supervise the student resource room.
  8. Other duties as required or assigned.

The Wright Technical Center in Buffalo, MN is seeking qualified applicants for the position of substitute teacher.  The WTC is a 7-12 high school focusing on career, technical, and alternative education.

Qualifications: Interest applicant must hold a valid MN teaching license or the ability to acquire a short call substitute licensure.

Availability: Open until filled

Daily rate: $115/day

Hours: 7:30 am – 2:30 pm (Monday – Friday)
