SCHOOL COUNSELOR POSITION  2018-2019

The Wright Technical Center – ISD #966 in Buffalo, MN is seeking a qualified applicant for a 1.0 FTE School Counselor position starting the 2018-19 academic school year in our ALC.  The WTC is a 7-12 school focusing on career, technical, and alternative education.

Qualifications:  Interested applicants must hold a valid MN K-12 School Counselor license.

Starting date:  August 20, 2018.

Position responsibilities:

  • Conduct student/parent intake process
  • Conduct orientation activities for students new to the ALC
  • Assist students with course registration
  • Maintain a comprehensive list of district and community resources
  • Work with families and/or make referrals to appropriate community resources
  • Monitors student academic performance, behavior, and attendance
  • Participate in the development of IEPs and 504 plans as requested
  • Maintain records to document student interactions, interventions, and academic decisions
  • Provide conflict resolution strategies to students
  • Provides academic and career counseling
  • Maintain records consistent with district policies and Minnesota Data Practices Act
  • Conduct and facilitate conferences with teachers, students, and parents
  • Develop and maintain student Continual Learning Plans (CLP)
  • Direct school wide PBIS activities and programs
  • Implements prevention-oriented group activities to meet student needs and school goals
  • Serve as the assessment coordinator for all state and school testing.
  • Participate as a member of assigned district committees
  • Assist with non-classroom activities and events: open house, parent-teacher conferences
  • Respond in a timely manner to emergency and crisis situations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Salary:  Based on experience & master agreement (extended contract)

Health Science & Nursing Assistant Instructor 2018-2019

The Wright Technical Center – ISD #966 in Buffalo, MN is seeking a qualified applicant for a 1.0 FTE Health Science Technology & Nursing Assistant Instructor position.

Qualifications:
Valid MN Registered Nurse license with two years nursing experience (One year in long-term care)
Valid MN teaching licensure in Health Care Careers (or willingness to pursue a teaching license)

Starting date: August 20, 2018.

Position summary: Instruct students (grades 11-12) in the areas of medical/health careers, medical terminology, CPR, first aid, and MN State Nursing Assistant curriculum. Supervise nursing assistant students at a long-term care practicum site.
