MIDDLE LEVEL TEACHER POSITION 2023-2024
The Wright Academy (Wright Technical Center – ISD #966) in Buffalo, MN is seeking a qualified applicant for a 1.0 FTE Middle Level – Grades 7 & 8 Teacher. Wright Academy’s Middle Level program offers an alternative curriculum that is academically challenging and meaningful, in an environment that addresses a student’s individual academic and social/emotional needs to maximize their success in the classroom and beyond.
Position Description:
To oversee the academic, social/emotional and behavioral needs of students in a 7 & 8 Middle Level self-contained classroom. The classroom instructor will be supported by a para-profesional, social worker and additional teaching staff throughout the school day.
Position Qualifications: Valid MN teaching license, English or Special Education license preferred, all other license areas will be considered.
Position Responsibilities:
- Instruct students in multiple core academic areas and grade levels (Math, English, Science or Social Studies)
- Provide assistance with de-escalating student behaviors
- Develop and implement components of a Behavioral Intervention Plan (BIP).
- Build effective relationships with students and staff.
- Collaborate with building administration, teachers, families, students, and others as needed for the purpose of implementing individualized learning plans.
- Support Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) initiatives.
